<적막 : Silence>
<적막 : Silence> 전은 부자 관계인 김녕만과 김호성의 두 번째 2인전으로, 사진을 기반으로 한 전시입니다.
이들은 지난 2023년 6월 전시 <계단 위의 관찰자>에 이어 한지라는 매체를 통해 사진을 선보입니다.
한지는 다양한 시각 언어를 담아낼 수 있는 매체로 한국에서 오랫동안 사용된 기록 재료입니다.
김녕만은 한국 현대사의 궤적을 묵묵히 기록해온 다큐멘터리 사진작가이며, 그의 아들 김호성은 상징을 도상으로 탐구하는 작업을 합니다.
이번 전시는 이 두 작가의 작업이 세대 간의 공통점을 부각하며, 기록 사진의 이성이 한지의 감성과 어떻게 결합하는지를 보여줍니다.
전시 제목 <적막 : Silence>은 전쟁 후의 적막한 풍경에서 나오는 소리 같은 사진들을 의미하며,
시간의 흐름 속에서 기록의 가치가 더해지는 감각의 조각임을 나타냅니다.
이번 전시를 통해 한지의 범용성과 시각 매체의 대중화, 그리고 세대와 차이에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시하고자 합니다.
<Silence> is the second joint exhibition by Kim Nyung-man and Kim Ho-sung, a father and son duo,
featuring photography-based works. Following their June 2023 exhibition,
<The Observer on the Stairs> this exhibition also explores the medium of hanji,
traditional Korean paper known for its versatility in visual expression and its long history as a recording material in Korea.
Kim Nyung-man is a documentary photographer who has quietly chronicled the trajectory of modern Korean history.
His son, Kim Ho-sung, delves into the symbolic, exploring signs and imagery.
This exhibition highlights the commonalities between the works of these two artists,
showing how the rationality of documentary photography can merge with the emotional resonance of hanji.
The exhibition title, <Silence> refers to photographs that evoke the quietude following the clamor of war,
symbolizing fragments of perception whose value increases over time. Through this exhibition,
the artists aim to showcase the versatility of hanji and the democratization of visual media,
offering new perspectives on generational differences and commonalities
